Writer & Artist
Food, culture, and the strange gravity of things we eat. Writing across seasons. Making work that looks and listens.
About
Albert Alexander is a writer and artist whose work lives at the intersection of food, memory, and the everyday uncanny. He writes in seasons—each one a theme, each piece a close-reading of a single object or meal.
His writing has appeared under the banner of Appetite Obscure, exploring the cultural and emotional resonance of what we consume: from the bleak poetry of a Slim Jim to the philosophical depths of a pastrami sandwich. Food, for Albert, is never just food.
Alongside his writing practice, he produces visual and audio work, including the project Sound Poisoning and visual pieces such as SOYLENT 2033 and The Witness. His art has been recognized with awards including the Paper Mirror Art Award and the Paper Moon Writing Prize.
